WHO COLLECTS WHAT?
I'd like to use this thread as one place for everyone to chime in on which countries of coins they collect. Or if you have a particular theme by which you collect, post it here. If there are several responses, I will add an overview in this first post. Also, tell us a little bit about it. Why that country? Since when? Favorite coin or series or design etc...

i have a pretty good start on coins from ireland - the home of my ancestors.
missing a few of the silver ones still. other than that i dont specialize in any country really.
also collect one coin from each country from my year of birth - 1982. only have around 45 so ive got a ways to go still.

This topic is not under the regular thread of general discussion for some reason.

I like foreign paper. My daughter likes any coins with horses on them. I don't collect anything particular, I just like the look of foreign paper and what is depicted on it.

Re: WHO COLLECTS WHAT?
I just started by buying my first world coin guide: 1901 to present (2006). My intention initially, is to obtain anything of value I come across. Once I get started, who knows where my interest will go. Hopefully, it will include coins of increasing value. He he. We'll see. Thanx for posting this thread.

I Collect.......
I am currently trying to get as many foreign coins as I can from 1987 (our son) and 1985 (our daughter-in-law) for their birth year coin projects.
As far as the rest, if I like the coin and I can afford it, I get it. Sometimes it might be the shape, sometimes it might be the composition, sometimes it might be the design that appeals to me.
Enjoy your coin searches, everyone.
