Newby sent you a private message on Feed Share - please respond

I received an email from Newby with a clickable to respond as a friend: YES or NO. Can non-members gather our email addresses and use them for spamming purposes?

Is this email I received related to this Forumotion.com? I don't see a member called Newby here.

No one can see your info unless they are a member. And actually, I just clicked your profile and I can't see your email. I think only the Admin and maybe moderators can see your email unless you post it somewhere on purpose.

Looking around the facilities to set up your profile, I noticed a selection to allow/not-allow vistors to post to your profile. I removed this ability, an option a member can select, so that I only get communication from members via PMs from now on. Apparently, a non-member can post a PM to a member, unless you turn that option OFF, since I got the request message from a visitor to set them up as FRIEND status. Once a non-member gets FRIEND status, I wonder what access to the group is possible. It's a most unusual set up.

Also, within the profile options is the ability to selectively disable post response notifications.
