Most beautiful European coin
Throughout the rich history of European coin, what coin do you feel is the most beautiful?

It is a newer minted coin, but IMHO the Silver Philharmonic is an absolutely gorgeous coin, especially the reverse.
It was love at first sight on my part.
Summer of 2008 I began watching the price of silver on a daily basis and watching for the price of that coin to drop down to a level that I was comfortable buying it. That occurrence along with my not being able to walk into my bank and walk out with 21 Ike's--which I do not consider a good looking coin--that same summer are probably the two mitigating factors in my becoming so interested in coins and I began searching rolls in July of 2008 and the rest is history.
Enjoy your coin searches, everyone.

I don't know about the MOST beautiful coin, but hey, check out my avatar. In general, I think many Vatican City coins are stunning.

Boy that's a hard one to answer,I bet the most beautiful European coin is one I haven't even seen yet.
That's the beauty of coin collecting,so many choices.
I do like some of the Hungarian Pengos and there are quite a few Vatican coins I'd love to own.
and I absolutely love the "Radiant Queen" 1933/1934 Polish Zlotych(sp?) coins.
Too many to think about.
Uthminsta that's funny that we both posted about Vatican coins at the same time

It's because they're freakin awesome. I will post pics of what I have (a small collection) when I get home to the coins and scanner. I would like to piece together a complete type set. There's really not that many...

I personally like silver Britannias. I wish I had some. Each year is unique.

Most beautiful european coin
I'm kind of partial to the gold Sovereigns from around 1900 with St. George and the dragon. However, I have seen the Austrian Philharmonic. Stunning!
